Giinagay Members and Community.

Firstly, I would like to introduce myself.  My name is Nathan Brennan and I am the New Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Coffs Harbour and District Local Aboriginal Land Council (CHDLALC).

I am excited to be joining an organisation with a great team of Staff, Board, and Members and not to forget the wider Aboriginal Community.

I am a proud Gumbaynggirr, Bundjalung and Gamilaraay man born and raised in Newcastle.

My previous work experiences include 9 years with TAFE NSW, and 3 years with Newcastle City Council as a Human Resources (HR) practitioner.

We are very lucky to be living in a beautiful region with much potential. My vision is to develop the Coffs Harbour and District LALC into a self-sustainable business enterprise. Delivering products and services in the form of cultural tourism operations, environmental management services, and high quality housing service that will sustain the long term future of CHDLALC.  As an organisation, staff and board are having conversations and developing strategies to set the path in this direction.

Over the coming weeks there will be some changes in positions of staff. Which will help  develop/achieve our vision.

Other than that, the LALC is all systems go as per usual.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all other organisations that have helped celebrate such a special week of NAIDOC Events here in Coffs Harbour. Great to see so many activities that the whole family can enjoy. I also want to take this time to acknowledge one of our CHDLALC Board members, Aunty Jenny Skinner as the 2018 Winner of the Aunty Grace Roberts Memorial Community Development Award. Congratulations Aunt and very proud of what you have achieved for the Coffs Harbour community.

Thanks to all those that have welcomed me to Coffs Harbour, I am looking forward to getting out in the community and meeting everyone. Until then you are all welcome to come up for a cuppa and yarn anytime.
