SUMMARY:Wildlife Monitoring Workshop
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join the Nature Conservation Council’s Wildlife Habitat – Protect\, Create\, Monitor workshop\, hosted on Gumbaynggirr \ncountry at Mylestom by project partners the Coffs Harbour and District Local Aboriginal Land Council. This project aims to protect wildlife \nand habitat features on the North Coast of NSW by providing training to land managers in identifying\, tracking and monitoring wildlife to \nsupport effective management practices. \n  \nThere will be three days where you can learn different skills in fauna trapping\, habitat identification and monitoring\, and a workshop on \nFriday 30 November that will outline all the methods used and different monitoring strategies depending on your objectives. You are \nwelcome to participate in as many days as you like. \n  \nWho should attend? Land managers\, bush regenerators\, Aboriginal Land Council and Indigenous Protected Area Rangers are encouraged \nto attend. \n  \nFacilitation: Nature Conservation Council’s Bushfire Program will facilitate the workshop. Presenters sharing their passion and \nunderstanding of fire ecology and fauna monitoring include: \n\nMark Graham and Kevin Taylor from the Nature Conservation Council.\n\n  \nDemonstration topics include: \n  \n\n\n\n\n·         Camera traps – how to set up and use \n·         Elliott traps – small mammal trapping \n·         Harp traps –  bat trapping \n·         Pit-fall traps – for mammals\, reptiles\, invertebrates \n·         Spotlighting & call playback – for nocturnal fauna\n\n\n\n  \nLocation: Workshop held at Mylestom Hall\, 18-20 River St\, Mylestom.
