Last Week, Lachlan Skinner was nominated for a Youth Recognition Award for the Mid North Coast Region and was invited to attend the New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council Statewide Conference in the Hunter Valley.

NSW Aboriginal Land Council Mid-North Coast Region covers Birpai, Bowraville, Bunyah, Coffs Harbour, Forster, Karuah, Kempsey, Nambucca Heads, Purfleet-Taree, Stuart Island, Thunggutti, and Unkya Local Aboriginal Land Councils. Who were all contenders for this Youth Recognition Award.

Most will know Lachlan Skinner for his ongoing efforts and commitment to this Coffs Harbour Community, and it shows through the love and support that he receives through his events and engagements with all that surround him.

This work has been recognised by not only our community but also by NSWALC Mid North Coast Regional Councilor Mr Peter Smith and NSWALC Northern Zone Office “Lockie is a dedicated and respected Member within the Coffs Harbour and District LALC area and is regarded as a future leader for the Coffs Harbour Aboriginal Community, Lockie is a highly focused and loyal individual and with a deep passion for his Mob and this reflects within the Coffs Harbour Aboriginal Community”.

Lachlan has been with this LALC for 5 years and many more years volunteering for committees such has Coffs Harbour Aboriginal Social Events.

We are proud to inform all that Lachlan Skinner was presented with the NSW Aboriginal Land Council Youth Recognition Award  for the Mid North Coast Region. We want to congratulate Lachlan on this incredible achievement and thank him for the ongoing commitment he shows to the LALC and the wider community.

Also want to congratulation the other Award Winners and Nominees. With special mention to Aunty Anne Edwards from Bowraville and Uncle Cecil Briggs from Dorrigo Plateau for taking out the Elders Recognition Awards on the night also.
