Culture and Heritage is a core responsibility of the Coffs Harbour and District Local Aboriginal Land Council, to maintain and protect culture and heritage (objects, places and stories) for its community and the future.

In doing this we have a Team of Cultural and Heritage Site Officers to oversee our Cultural Heritage Program.

In this role the Cultural and Heritage Sites Officer liaises with CHCC, Archaeologists, Developers and Property owners.

The Cultural and Heritage Sites Officer also responds to Development Applications from Local Government Areas (Coffs Harbour City Council and Bellingen Shire Council) on lands where the Coffs Harbour and District LALC holds an interest.

Other stakeholders are regularly liaised with, such as the Office of Environment and Heritage, the National Parks and Wildlife Service and Roads and Maritime Services.

The Project Coordinator will allocates our Cultural and Heritage Sites Officer to different development projects to ensure due diligence and the interests of the community are upheld.
