Commonwealth Scholarships Program for Young Australians

Last year, the Department of Education, Skills and Employment (the Department), sought the input from your organisation about the design of the Commonwealth Scholarships Program for Young Australians. Input from stakeholders ensured that the program genuinely reflects regional occupational priorities and course availability.

The BUSY Group (BUSY At Work) has been contracted by the Department to deliver the scholarships program in:
New South Wales: Grafton, Coffs Harbour and Gosford
Northern Territory: Alice Springs
Queensland: Maryborough and Townsville
South Australia: Port Pirie
Tasmania: Burnie
Victoria: Shepparton
Western Australia: Wanneroo and Armadale

The second round has opened.

Young people up to 24 years old living in the ten regions will be able to apply for a scholarships worth up to $5,000 a year to undertake a vocational education and training course from Certificate III to Advanced Diploma level and participate in a 20 business-day paid internship with a local business.

Priority will be given to young people who are Indigenous, have a culturally and linguistically diverse background, or have a disability. Priority will also be given to people, regardless of age, who have exited the Australian Defence Force in the past two years.

Please feel free to distribute this email and the attached flyer to people in your network.
